
Oldham County, the seventy-fourth county in order of formation, is located in north-central Kentucky along the Ohio River. Oldham County was created from sections of Henry, Shelby and Jefferson counties on December 15, 1823, and was named for Col. William Oldham of Jefferson County, a Revolutionary War officer and a native of Virginia. Oldham was killed in 1791 while leading a regiment of Kentucky militia against the Indians during the St. Clair campaign on the Wabash River. The seat of Oldham County is LAGRANGE.
