Because political boundaries often changed, historic maps are critical in helping you discover the precise location of your ancestor's hometown, what land they owned, who their neighbors were, and more.
A wide variety of maps are offered by the Nevada Department of Transportation, Map Sales, Room 206, 1263 S. Stewart St., Carson City, NV 89712 <www.nevadadot.com>. The department’s website has quad maps online for review. They will send a catalog and price list of available maps.
The United States Geological Survey will supply any of its maps for a nominal fee . The state office is at 333 W. Nye Lane, Room 203, Carson City, NV 89706.
