The Historical Research Library has the National Archives microfilm index to service records of Union soldiers in North Dakota.
The researcher should also check the Official Roster of North Dakota Soldiers, Sailors and Marines in World War I, 1917–1918, 4 vols. (Bismarck, N.Dak.: North Dakota State Historical Society, 1931).
