Montgomery County, Virginia

Montgomery County Virginia Map

Montgomery County was named for Richard Montgomery, who was killed in the American assault on Quebec late in 1775. It was formed from Fincastle County in 1776. Part of Botetourt County was added in 1789, and part of Pulaski County was added in 1842. Its area is 388 square miles, and the county seat is Christiansburg. The population is 83,629 according to the 2000 census.
